Very nice intimate affair hosted for the buyer's at Barney's by K-Swiss in their Manhattan penthouse/roof deck showroom.
This is a very across the board set of vibe and groove music. What was great about the gig, the folks at K-Swiss are well aware of my mix it all up style and requested that I record my set. Most special event private parties I do, I just do and that's it. But the good people at K-Swiss were like - not so fast my friend - record please.
I did and here it is.
Live sets are how you really want to measure a DJ's talent, especially when the lights are hot and all ears are on you. That mix cd that that DJ made at home, trust me, they started over a few times and probably did some additional editing on the computer - hey, I do, sometimes. In a live setting, however, there is no starting over, no erase and try again...the music is live, loud, and everybody can hear the mix. In this p.c. world of today no one's going to tell you "boo, you suck," but they'll notice - and tolerate, or tune out, your "djing" because they are already out with their friends and they want to make to most of it - if you aren't tight so you should be tight with your blends and flow regardless to keep yourself working, DJs.
