A night of debuts featuring a medley of re-amplified classics. An evening where I gave all my other Red Rooster classics the night off to make room for some new takes on tunes good folks know and love. I enjoy the added thump on these songs that are wonderful in their original forms. The added kicks and loop manipulations gives DJs a better chance at keeping this kind of soul and groove alive because the additional production gives these songs a sonic resonance comparable to their contemporary counter-parts. In other words, the beat doesn't drop (out) when you play these classics that should always be in rotation. Most say the DJ is 'killin' it,' I prefer to revive it.
